Dr. Rizwana Popatia is the Medical Director and US board certified Consultant Paediatrics and Paediatric Pulmonologist at Amana Healthcare, and an Assistant Professor in Pediatrics at the Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences (MBRU) UAE. Prior to joining Amana, Dr Rizwana worked at Harvard Medical School (Children’s Hospital Boston), Weill Cornell Medical College (New York Presbyterian Hospital) and Al Jalila Children’s Hospital. She is currently an Institute of Healthcare Improvement (IHI) Fellow at Boston, USA.
Dr Rizwana’s medical expertise includes paediatric respiratory and sleep disorders, cardiopulmonary exercise testing, primary ciliary dyskinesia, paediatric aerodigestive disorders, and paediatric bronchoscopy. In addition, Dr Rizwana is the Vice-President of Pediatric Pulmonology Chapter of Emirates Thoracic Society (ETS) and Secretary of Sleep Medicine Chapter of Emirates Thoracic Society (ETS).
Dr Rizwana has multiple publications in eminent journals and has reviewed articles for eminent journals such as the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine, JAMA, Journal of Neonatology and Perinatology and BMC Medical Genetics. She is currently the editorial board member of Journal of Pediatrics and Child Care as well as the International Journal of Pediatric Health Care and Advancements.
